My baby has started refusing to eat?

hi just wondered if anybody could give me any advice... im seeing the health visitor on friday but just wondered if anybody else had experienced anything like this? my baby boy is nearly 6 months old (24 weeks) and a couple of weeks ago we decided to start weaning him. He can sit up by himself, he is a very big boy (nearly 19lbs) and even has two teeth! I am feeding him and he didnt seem satisfied by my feeds anymore. I didnt want to rush things because he is still quite young so just started with baby rice which he seemed to really enjoy. Then i pureed some carrots, the next day parsnip, the next day potato all of which he gobbled down no problem. The second week we were away visitng family, and my mother in law had just bought lots of jars of stuff (chicken and veg etc). I wasnt sure about giving him jars with meat in so soon but they said suitable for 4months onwards and i didnt want to offend her so thought he could just have them whilst we were there. The first time he tried a jar a few hours later he was really sick.,.. like projectile vomiting but was otherwise happy and kept down his milk feeds after that. The next day he refused his baby cereal and a fruit pot i tried to give him. SInce returning i have tried him on my homemade food again but he is still refusing to eat! Do you think he can remember he was sick? Im confused because he loved it so much before and now he just wont open his mouth and if i do get some in he refuses to swallow! so basically for the last few days he has had milk only. Do you think i should stop and start again in a week or so? thanks
