Do you have to know about bartending to apply for the position?

theres this new restaurant opening near me and theyre hiring basically everything but i already worked as a dishwasher/bus boy at a dennys for a year now, im tryna move up. im interested in the server position as well as the bartender position, BUT ive never bartended in my life, to be honest i dont even really know about liquor and all that good stuff. they also have a barback position. would i need to know anything about it? or do you think they are willing to teach me? the place is called the yardhouse, i never heard of it before but yeah, help?
