That is tragic for the boy. The store is not required to baby proof itself nor to act as a babysitter. Had the child died from eating contaminated food from the store or suffering brain injury when a self fell on his head the store could be considered negligent, however a metal bar is not inherently dangerous to have in the store and the parent's need to supervise their offspring.
