Why many men in their mid age crisis develope intimate affection to ladies much younger than them?

A cousin of mine in his late fourties is married to a young girl who is twenty six years of age. His first borne is more or less the age of his wife. He even divorced his old wife. He had been seducing girls of such age for a long time now. I have observed several men including myself getting into such interest though the severity differs.
