K-Lite Codec pack - how do I ensure I get a trouble free install?

I've been using K-Lite Codecs for over a year without issues. I find the best installation is by using the K-Lite FULL pack, upon install it will ask which codecs to install, under the drop-list select 'Lots of stuff. It's advisable to remove any previously installed codec packs before using K-Lite.
