AA + 4yrs experience VS BS + 2yrs experience?

I currently attend the Art Institute for a BS in Interior Design. The school costs a lot of money though, so I recently looked into a program at a community college for an AS degree for Interior Design Technology. In order to get a license to be an Interior designer, you need either a Bach +2 yrs experience, or an oc. +4 yrs experience. Should I go for a BS but suffer with a lifetime of debt (tuition is approx $70,000), or go to comm. college, save money, but get an AS degree?
